There is no getting around the fact that we are all sinners. We were born into sin:
“Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned” (Romans 5:12)
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
It is impossible for humans to be perfect and righteous. God knows this and is forgiving and merciful:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
“Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”. (Proverbs 28:13)
The Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil and to save us from our sin:
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8)
“Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the Word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 15)
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst” (1 Timothy 1:15 )
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7)
“We are not sinners because we sin. We sin because we are sinners.” R.C. Sproul
