Learn how the Gift can help you!
What is The Gift?
A Christian-based, online coaching program including 13 short lessons on a variety of topics followed by an application (homework) page where you learn how to apply what you've learned. Each lesson should take no longer than 15 minutes.
The Gift is systematically designed to provide resources to help you achieve your goals in the privacy of your own home. You can work on these lessons at your own pace. The program is comprehensive, including information and material derived from years of education and experience. This transformational process provides the resources needed to help you break free from what holds you back, encouraging lessons to help you heal, and finally, direction on appropriate necessary changes to move forward toward freedom.
Timeline - A growth model based on five P’s:
P = Past: Heal past traumas or perceptions, recovery of the heart
P = Present: Apply lessons from the past for current change
P = Plan: Road map or plan of action
P = Proceed: Implementation of goals, growth, accountability
P = Persevere: God encourages perseverance through trials & hardship
“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised” Hebrews 10:36
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him” James 1:12
What The Gift program is not:
- A Bible Study
- A secular program
- A place for debate
- A dwelling place for past hurts or traumas
- A replacement for professional counseling
Who is The Gift for?
The program is for everyday people with everyday problems who need a little push and guidance to reach their full potential. It may complement what you may already be doing, such as a Bible study or professional counseling.
Who is The Gift not for?
This program does not take the place of professional mental health counseling. Please read our disclaimer. It is not for people who do not believe in Jesus Christ or for those who want to debate Christianity.

What is the difference between secular coaching and Christian coaching?
Secular coaching is a two-way relationship between client and coach. It is self-centered where the client relies on him or herself to make changes and reach goals. Christian coaching is also a two-way relationship, but between you and God. It is Christ-centered, focused on God’s truth, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide you through the process. If you are doing one on one virtual coaching, it is a three-way relationship between you and your coach with God at the center.
What if I am not sure I am a Christian?
We will respect your beliefs and we will assume you will do the same, however, our hope is that you found this program because you have a desire to know God personally and grow in your faith.
Do I have to do one-on-one coaching with this program?
No, we designed The Gift for capable individuals who prefer to work on their goals privately and independently. However, if you get stuck or have questions, then one-on-one consultations are available.
What can I expect in a private one-on-one session?
Each session is one hour. You will have the opportunity to choose how to use this hour. We do not need to limit our focus. You may want to tell your story, express your frustrations, or ask questions about the lessons. This process is unique to each individual, and you will choose how to utilize this time. What transpires will depend on where you are on your journey. Often, we must address and heal a person’s past before moving forward. Applying lessons from the past promotes healing and encourages change in one’s current situation. When appropriate, we write a plan for your future goals and apply the latest tools and techniques that will help you to achieve those goals as effectively and efficiently as possible.
How many sessions will I need?
Some people need brief coaching, and some may need more depending on their situation and state of mind. The goal is always to encourage you to work through your lessons independently.
What is a Christian coach?
A Christian coach offers a place of hope, support, and guidance. They initiate questions and spark conversation to expose heart issues. A Christian coach will support you with biblical truth and resources to help heal wounds so you can move forward on your spiritual journey.
A Christian coach is also like a tour guide who helps you explore your past, present, and future. Your past must be explored briefly to realize what causes your pain and suffering, your mental blocks, or your reasons for resisting change and healing. After this, you will evaluate your present situation to understand why you feel and act the way you do. Once you have gained clarity, you can then begin to create a road map or plan of action to get you to where you want to be. A Christian coach helps you define your goals, offers tools on how to reach those goals, and holds you accountable for your daily homework and progress.
A Christian Coach:
- Prays for their clients
- Listens with compassion
- Cares for and helps people
- Extends support and compassion
- Empowers clients with resources
- Helps make decisions
- Helps clarify problems and issues
- Aids in understanding behavioral patterns
- Develops God-awareness
- Provides coping skills for stress
- Teaches emotional intelligence
- Helps clients to explore and express feelings
- Explains new ideas and skills
- Encourages involvement in activities
- Shares biblical perspectives in response to personal needs
How long does it take to see change?
As the old adage goes: “You will get out of it what you put into it.” You may experience change immediately by looking at yourself and your life from a new perspective. Christian coaching and counseling encourage lifestyle changes that promote lifelong well-being. It is intended to be an ongoing process of daily dedication to change: thinking more wisely, choosing and acting more unselfishly, managing your moods and behaviors, loving more effectively, and creating a better relationship with Jesus Christ. Everyone will experience change and growth at different rates.
What can I expect to change?
Our goal is for you to change your perspective on who you are and what your purpose is, and then to use this new perspective to inspire future changes. A shift in perspective results in behavior change and feelings of hopefulness and peace.
