Everyone has a story and many of our stories are very tragic, but trust that God knows what He is doing. God grants you a story possibly to test or discipline you, to build character and endurance, to draw out your sin so that you grow spiritually in the likeness of Him. Maybe He brings things to the surface that need to be faced openly and honestly for you to become mature believers. He uses suffering to enhance your relationship with Him, build character and purify you. He wants you to rely on Him to deepen your faith. He has a purpose for every trial that comes your way. Take these opportunities to learn and grow in your faith and listen to what God wants to teach you. He does not want you stagnant and miserable. He wants you to move forward.
- When will you stop ruminating over your past and the lack of what you want?
- When will you stop using your past as a crutch instead of a stepping stone?
- When are you going to use your past and write a story that will inspire others?
The choice is yours. Leave the past behind. Move forward. Move right!
Therapy is about what happened to you and healing your past. Coaching is about how you are going to respond to what happened to you so you can move forward.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds” James 1:2
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5
